vintage prints, advertising posters and photographic images

result of active searching for many years with a special focus on
acquiring images seldom seen or available. Many of our images are very
rare and are simply not available anywhere else.
Vintage
Venus uses only premium quality materials: ultrachrome archival inks, heavyweight
paper (Italian Fine Art Rag paper or heavyweight photographic
paper) and Giclee canvas. All prints of sizes A2 (approx 16-18" x
24") or larger on either Fine Art Paper or Giclee canvas are coated
with a liquid spray acrylic lacquer (lamination) conserving the
print against UV and scratch damage - not to be confused with inferior, unsightly
and non-archival plastic coating lamination which is commonly offered.

What makes a Vintage Venus print special ?
Original posters produced in the 18th to early 20th centuries
are very scarce and may cost hundreds to thousands of dollars to
acquire. Unfortunately, due to the ravages of time,
these prints often become damaged and discoloured.
Archival materials were usually not available or
used during the production run leading to a gradual
deterioration of the print itself. Discolouring,
particularly foxing (yellowing / browning), is commonly
evident reducing the richness and beauty of the original
print.
Vintage Venus prints are meticulously restored and digitally
remastered from originals and are an exceptional yet affordable high quality
alternative.
Our reprints bring to life the vibrancy and style of the
original image. They have a very desirable look
and feel and are one of the finest
available anywhere today. The prints are unlike the many
others of inferior quality which often resemble cheaper posters.

Paper
Prints
Our paper prints are produced using archival ultrachrome pigment inks and premium quality
paper.
We also lacquer the prints produced
on Fine Art Paper (308gsm) to provide UV and scratch protection
and extra durability.
The prints all come with a border of approx. 2 - 5 cm to allow for
matting/mounting for framing if required.
Our Paper Prints will last for many years and will maintain
their vibrancy provided they are not displayed in direct
sunlight for lengthy periods of time.
The superior archival quality of ultrachrome pigmented inks is
in excess of 75 years.

Italian Fine Art Rag Paper renowned for its beautiful

Giclée
Canvas Prints
Our Giclée
Art Prints are produced using a cotton blend canvas and archival
ultrachrome pigment inks. The printed canvas is coated with
protective lacquer increasing durability and guarding the work
against the effects of UV radiation.
All canvas prints come with an extra band printed around the print
itself along with 'markers' - fold indicators. This allows the print to
be stretched in a "Gallery Wrap" style eliminating unsightly
bare edges on the finished stretched product.
Giclée prints produce the most beautiful and accurate
art reproductions available to date, and are the modern
alternative for artlovers. Using recently developed
archival inks, papers and canvasses, they are also among
the most archival, taking over from traditional printing
methods to produce museum quality prints for artists and
galleries.

How can Canvas Prints
be framed or presented ?
Canvas
prints are normally presented for display using a wooden
framework (often called "stretcher bars"). This
involves securing the canvas to the framework using staples then
applying a hanging cable so the print can be displayed on the
wall. We provide an additional band around the image so the
edges of the print wrap around the frame. This provides a
neater, more aesthetically pleasing result.
Alternatively, the Canvas print can be simply matted and framed
just as conventional paper prints are. In this case, the extra
banding is not required. If this is your intention we require
your preference prior to commencing production.

For practicality, we offer 'canvas only' prints. Many of our customers
prefer this option to save on freight costs and to have them
displayed to their preference.

Guarantee
We print on-demand for each customer and therefore ask that you
choose carefully when selecting your print/s, however, if the
print has a defect we will gladly accept your return. Please advise us of your intention
first, and then send the item back to us with postal insurance. The merchandise
must be in original condition including all packaging and
documentation.
